Homemade everyday pizza which is healthy and very good!

This is the pizza we are making about every Saturday except in the summertime. It is healthy, very good and easy to make. We begin with the paste. Mix together 4 dl flour, a little salt, 2 spoons olive oil and 1.5 dl water (temp. 50 degrees Celsius) mixed with yeast. Let it rest for about 30 min.

We use a rolling pin on the paste to get it thin. It is not that hard it takes max 3 min. A little more to clean up afterwards but not that bad.

We oil the baking tray with olive oil and put the paste and all ready purchased pizza sauce.

We are tight on the cheese and use 16% low fat type. Remember this is an everyday pizza.

Today we are using ham, paprika and leek, don’t have on too much as the pizza is getting soft and fluffy.

Then it is time to enjoy the pizza with a glass of soda or wine. It is great with pizza as you can vary on the topping and you will have yet another taste. Do you have any point of view or suggestions?

What kind of wine should be drunk with pizza? Will red semi, dry be good?

Do you have to cook the pizza for a certain amount of time? I would imagine that one would have to, but I don’t see that on here

It seems that I have missed that one. About 20 min on full heat on the oven.

Looks very easy, but how much yeast do you usually add? Do you eyeball it or is there a specific amount?

Wow this is a great dough recipe, going to have to try it. I think that both red and white. There is nothing better than sharing a pizza, it has to be one of my favorite take out foods around.

I really enjoy making pizza and take this a step further by making a very flavorsome pesto in place of the tomato pizza sauce. This I make with fresh basil from the garden, garlic from the larder, seasoning to please, toasted pine nuts, a drop or two of lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce (a splash) and parmesan cheese. Everything is placed in the food processor and ‘a presto’ – we have it! I sometimes use Chorizo sausage to spice things-up and love some very tasty Kalamata Greek olives on my pizza which make it a delectable treat.

Yum, this looks good! Homemade pizza is the best. I’ve never seen pizza made with paprika and leek, but it definitely opens up a whole world of pizza topping ideas. Thanks for sharing this, will have to try this recipe.
