Vina San Pedro – Gato Negro Cabernet Sauvignon 2007.
I must say that I was surprised when I tasted this vintage; we have tasted this before and given the wine dice 2. This vintage is different! The wine is good all the way with taste of red berries and with a smooth finish. It is easy to like and easy to drink.
With the price of this wine in Norway and Sweden it is a good alternative for a table wine. It is not a culinary experience, but that is not the point either.
Have you tasted this or another wine, you are welcome to add a dice/review in our wine guide

I wouldn’t even think about drinking a Gato Negro. Don’t get me wrong, but that is like one of the cheapest wines you can find in Chile (€ 2,2 app.). But, of course, you can’t always drink expensive wine. In case that is available there, I would suggest those inexpensive, formidable (considering the price) wines:
- Oveja Negra: specially the Carménère grape and the Cabernet Sauvignon (of course, the last one with red meet or something really strong).
- Doña Dominga: Not as good as Oveja Negra, but it’s Syrah (or Shiraz, I never knew what is the right one) is very good.
- León de Taparpacá: Ok, some Chilean wine-lovers are going to hate me, but León de Tarapacá is actually very good. Carménère and, if you like it, the “always easy to drink” Merlot deserve a chance.

Thanks for the adv. on Gato Negro it is a very cheap wine here to and I have only tasted it ones before and that we didn’t like to much. But the vintage 2007 was surprisingly drinkable and easy to like. And also since we have this wine guide we are trying out all kinds of wine. I will take a look and see if any of the wines that you recommend is available in Norway or Sweden.
Thanks again.
